Public Hearing – June 1st, 2021

The Town of Poultney is considering making application to the State of Vermont for a VCDP Implementation Grant under the Vermont Community Development Program. A public hearing will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 6:30 PM at the Town Office of Poultney, 9 Main Street, Poultney, VT 05764, and via Zoom, to obtain the views of citizens on community development, to furnish information concerning the amount of funds available and the range of community development activities that may be undertaken under this program, the impact to any historic and archaeological resources that may be affected by the proposed project, and to give affected citizens the opportunity to examine the proposed statement of projected use of these funds.

The proposal is to apply for $83,478.00 in VCDP funds which will be used to accomplish the following activities: The purpose of the project is to increase / expand opportunities for fitness and health programs for senior citizens outside of the facility located at 206 Furnace Street (the Poultney Young At Heart Senior Center) but located on the property, by constructing a pavilion and rubberized walking track.
